Grania Rosette Rubomboras
Grania Rosette Rubomboras is a Gayaza High School old girl and a graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical) from Makerere University and two Masters’ degrees; a Master of Science in Project Management (MSPM) from Boston University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Makerere University. Her working career for the last 28 years, has been mostly in the Power Sector at national and regional levels. In Uganda she worked with Uganda Electricity Board (UEB) (1992-2004) where she rose up the ranks to the Managing Director level. Following the divestiture of UEB, she moved to the Rural Electrification Agency where she headed the Planning Department (2004 – 2009). At the regional level, she worked with the Nile Basin Initiative, based in Kigali (2010- 2019), initially as Regional Project Manager and rose to head the Power Development and Trade Department facilitating, supporting and strengthening the identification, preparation and implementation of the Nile Equatorial Subsidiary Action Programme Nile Basin Initiative (NELSAP) power projects for the benefit of all riparian countries. She worked on and oversaw projects that covered a number of countries including: Burundi, D R Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Zambia. She has a wealth of experience working with multilateral and bilateral Development Agencies.
Besides serving on Strategic Action for Eradication of Child Abuse (SAFE), Grania has served on a number of Corporate Boards of various organisations in Uganda like the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Kampala Club Investment Company Ltd, Rural Communication Development Fund of the Uganda Communication Commission, and is a founding member of AMIG Investments Company Ltd.
Grania is an ardent reader, a Christian, a sports woman, a very tough and no nonsense lady but with a very golden heart towards those underprivileged and hurting in society. Excellence with dignity and integrity is her personal motto.
